The United States has been a safe place for many refugees for decades. Integrating into the U.S. community requires some needs, such as employment, education, cultural orientation, learning financial information, transportation, medical screening, etc. For refugees transitioning to a new life, there are central cities that are hard to navigate like Houston. Although it is one of the largest recipients of refugees in the country, significant cities provide less assistance to new refugee families compared to vibrant cities during the initial resettlement period.
